GSA Defeats Summary Judgment in Retaliation Suit
On March 7, 2025, GSA Partners Amy E. Robinson and Jason L. Solotaroff prevailed in their opposition to a motion to for summary judgment. The case is Famulari v. Farmingdale State College, 1:22-cv-3601 filed in the Eastern District of New York. GSA represents Professor Stevie Famulari, who was denied tenure and terminated after speaking out about her department’s sexist hiring practices and discrimination against a student with a disability. The suit alleges violations of the Rehabilitation Act and Title IX. Judge Anne Y. Shields denied Defendant’s motion for summary judgment in its entirety, and the case will now proceed to trial.
